Following the record success of the last Crowle Gunpowder Plot 10k Road race and Fun Runs in 2009, the event will be held again in 2010 - on the morning of Sunday 9th May.
Only 2 weeks to go, so we hope your training is going well.
Our pre-entry levels are ahead of last year so we seem on course to achieve our race limit of 500 runners.
Pre-entry is highly recommended.
Please note that the photos on this page are provided courtesy of yourraceday.co.uk who are a sponsor of the event and will be there on the day this year too.
A capacity 500 runners took to the roads in Crowle’s very popular 10k race last year and with 170 fun runners taking part in the runs on the playing field for children and novices more than £7,000 was raised for local charities.

The 2010 10k will offer the same moderately undulating and fast route, which will be closed to traffic through the scenic Crowle countryside. It will take in the historic sights of Huddington Court, one of the homes of the conspirators in the Gunpowder plot 400 years ago and will pass by Trench Wood and through rural Sale Green. The race will start and finish at the Crowle Parish Hall & Recreation Ground, which will be two of the charities to benefit from the race proceeds.
As in previous years, runners and their children will be able to enjoy a professionally organised event, run under Athletic Association rules by a large team of volunteers from the village of Crowle. There will be with plenty of marshals, toilets, first aid facilities, a BBQ, refreshments and cake stall, entertainment area and playground for children and free car parking.

The fun runs on 9th May will, as in previous years, take place from 10.30am on the village playing field before the main 10K road race (at 11.30am) and will comprise an under 16's 1 mile field race and a ¼ mile fun run for younger children and their families. Runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part.
The 10k entry fee for Athletic Association affiliated runners will be £10; unaffiliated runners, £12, with an extra £1 charge for entries on the day. All fun runners, whenever entered, will be £3. There will be prizes for many categories of runners, awarded immediately after each of the fun runs and at 1pm for the winners in the 10k race.
The event organisers anticipate yet another popular event, and early bird registration forms will be available from January 2010 from this race website, www.Crowle-Online.co.uk/roadrace. Race day registration will open on the Sunday morning at 9.30am for on-the-day entries and for pre-entered runners to collect their race numbers.
