The Cryer is Changing

Posted 20th March 2005

Starting in May, the Cryer will appear in 12 page format every month, mainly to provide more space for parish organisations to publish their programmes and news. To assist the editor, all organisations are being requested to appoint their own correspondent, specifically tasked with keeping in regular contact with her and ensuring that her deadlines for publication are met. These changes have the full support of the Parish Council, who will continue to subsidise the costs of publication for parishioners' benefit.

Where's YOUR Laptop?

Posted 20th March 2005

A recent spate of thefts has targeted laptop computers - very saleable!

Some simple do's and don't's:

Don't leave it on view in your car; do put it in he boot, but don't put it there while you are in view of anyone else who might be watching (yes, it does happen);

Don't leave it in view near front door or windows at home; do take it upstairs at night;

Do make sure to keep your data backed-up on a separate drive, kept apart from the laptop - it just could happen to you!

More Dogs

Posted 5th March 2005

Livestock - cattle or sheep - can become infected if they come into contact with fouling by dogs.

If walking your dog where livestock graze, clearing up the mess is just as important as where children play.

Please clear up after your dog, on pavements, hall car park and garden, or in fields.

Dogs

The Parish Council is receiving an increasing number of complaints about dog fouling of pavements in the village.

Would dog owners please ensure that dog mess is not deposited on pavements or other areas likely to be used by children in and around the village.
